I've always wanted to change something. Not someday, but through the work I do every day. The question was never what pays best, but what genuinely matters.
Real estate came into it early. My parents are in the business, and I've been around it since I was a child. My father and I would talk for hours about buildings, about architecture, about what makes a place good and what keeps it good for years. At some point it was obvious that this was where I could make a difference.
Then I came to Bali and saw what is happening here. Villa after villa, the same design, built for the return on paper rather than for the person who will live there. And now that there aren't a few hundred of them but thousands, all built the same way, the return stays exactly where it started, on paper.
A house is where a life actually happens. What makes it a home is how it feels to be in it, and no spreadsheet has ever produced that.
So I didn't want to start another agency selling whatever a developer happens to be building. I want to help people create something truly their own. A house shaped around their wishes, their routines, their taste. One that feels like them, not like a catalogue.
The other half matters just as much. A lot of people never take this step at all, and I understand why. From the outside the market looks risky and hard to read, there is no system quietly protecting you the way there is at home, and there are people here who make a living from that confusion. This should be a step you can take without gambling your money or your peace of mind. Not because the risk disappears, but because someone is standing next to you who is on your side and makes sure it is done properly.
That is why Grace Estates exists. Not because Bali needs another agency, but because it needs someone who takes both things seriously: that it is safe, and that it is truly your own.
What I bring
I'm at the beginning, and I'd rather say so, because that is where my advantage comes from. I'm not an agency that has been here for years, running as many projects at once as it can. I'm here because this is the thing I have wanted to build. It isn't a side business for me, it's what I put everything into.
Since I arrived I have been building two things. The first is a real understanding of the market in Bali and Lombok. And something works in my favour here that sounds like it shouldn't: the rules on ownership, permits and renting have changed from the ground up in the last few months. Anyone who has been here for years built their whole way of working around the old ones and now has to unlearn it. I'm learning this market as it stands today. And while catching up is something others squeeze in around client work, for me it is the work.
The second is a network of people who have done this for years: lawyers, notaries, architects, site managers, surveyors and developers. Which is why it doesn't matter that I'm not the expert in every one of those fields myself.
In fact it works better than doing it all myself. Nobody checking their own work comes back with bad news. A developer is unlikely to tell you something is wrong with his build, and that isn't bad faith, it's just human. So whoever checks is never whoever did the work. That is how I build the safety net this place doesn't have.
There is one more thing, and it's the one that usually gets lost as a company grows. I take on very few projects at a time, so my attention is never split. I'll work on yours as hard as I'm able, because to me this isn't another house and another client, it's the whole reason I'm here.
